Kyle Wimmer is a visual arts teacher at Mountain Range High School in Westminster, Colorado. This is his 20th year teaching. He uses his own struggles with addiction to relate and build strong connections with students regarding vaping and substance abuse. Kyle runs a club called "The Phoenix" specifically for students that have burnt out and want to rise up, away from the clutches of nicotine and other vices in exchange for love, support and even candy at times. Students are encouraged and welcomed to openly turn in their vape pens as they then use art to help turn those poisons into new, creative expressions.
